Valentine’s Day 2.0

It’s been quite a few days since Valentine’s Day. And, even though we’re in the hard heat of the President’s Day weekend, I prefer to bask in the warm afterglow of this latest holiday day that, in my humble option, should be extended. There are no other peeps that are more deserving of our extended acknowledgement and affection than the ones near and dear to our hearts–the ones we love.

This past week I happened upon a sweet little gem that’s very much in step with the V-Day vibe. I guess you could call it a love song. The song is “Personal Rockstar” from Joel Brown’s album, “In Retrospect”. This is Brown’s first solo album and it features a collection of  “autobiographical songs about Brown’s childhood-involving the divorce of his parents and becoming paralyzed from a car accident at age nine.”

It’s acoustic, melodic, intensely intimate and very sweeeeeet. The video is quite beautiful too. And it’s not about Suffering.

I invite you to take a few moments to embrace the one you love, turn up the volume and enjoy Joel Brown’s “Personal Rockstar”.
